On Thursday, January 2, 2025, at approximately 10:09 a.m., San Francisco Police Officers responded to the 2700 block of Anza Street regarding a residential burglary.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered that an unknown suspect had gained entry into the victim's residence and stole several bicycles valued at approximately $28,000.

On Monday, January 13, 2025, the victim advised SFPD burglary unit investigators, that they located a possible match to their stolen bicycles being sold on an online marketplace. With the information provided, investigators identified Joseph Zachary Negapatan as a possible suspect.

SFPD burglary unit investigators developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for Negapatan and a search warrant for his vehicle, person, and residence located in San Lorenzo, CA.

On Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, SFPD officers surveilled Negapatan and arrested him without incident near his residence in San Lorenzo, CA.

Officers, including members of the SFPD burglary unit, conducted a search of Negapatan's residence. Officers located and seized the victim's stolen bicycles, in addition to several other suspected stolen bicycles, frames, and suspected stolen bike parts.

Negapatan was booked into San Francisco County Jail for the arrest warrant for possession of stolen property (496 PC).

Although an arrest has been made, this is an open and active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.

The SFPD burglary unit urges victims of bicycle thefts to keep records of serial numbers and utilize databases such as www.bikeindex.com. This free database can help recover stolen bicycles.

The SFPD would like to thank the assistance of the District Attorney's office who were instrumental in this operation.
