On Friday, July 10, 2026, the Central Bike Squad conducted a targeted arrest in the Hosford-Abernathy neighborhood. This coordinated arrest resulted in two arrests for drug dealing and a significant seizure of both cash and narcotics.
The investigation began with the dayshift Central Bike Squad who developed probable cause to arrest two suspects who were selling narcotics within Central Precinct. Through their investigation, investigators learned that the two suspects had traveled from Washington to conduct narcotic sales in Portland.
Officers developed a plan to safely take both suspects into custody. The afternoon Bike Squad responded to assist with this coordinated arrest which occurred at the intersection of Southeast 20th Avenue and Southeast Caruthers Street. Notably, this intersection is within approximately 1,000 feet of several schools in the area.
Both suspects were booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. The arrests resulted in the following seizures:
Considering that 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be a fatal dose for an adult, the seizure of 843.7 grams translates to potentially 421,850 fatal doses of fentanyl.
This coordinated enforcement effort disrupted active drug trafficking and removed dangerous narcotics from the community.
