'A Day Like No Other', the series that chronicles Raphael's life, arrives on Netflix on 9 October

Netflix has today announced the release date, the first images and the teaser poster for A Day Like no Other , the biographical series based on the life of the renowned Spanish singer Raphael, which will premiere exclusively on Netflix in Spain and Latin America on 9 October .

Javier Morgade ( Culpa tuya , El jardinero ) and Carlos Santos ( El refugio atómico , 1992 ) portray Raphael at two stages of his life - his youth and his maturity, respectively - in a story that explores the highs and lows of the artist's life. The cast is rounded off by Francesco Carril ( Los años nuevos , La virgen de agosto ), Natalia Varela ( Ella es tu padre , No te puedes esconder ), Pepa Aniorte ( Sueños de libertad , La caza. Guadiana ) and Manolo Caro ( Entrevías , Feria: la luz más oscura ), amongst others.

A Day Like no Other is an eight-episode biographical series that recounts the life of Raphael, from his humble beginnings in post-war Spain to his conquest of the world's greatest stages. The series portrays the unstoppable rise of a one-of-a-kind artist: his most intimate passions, his greatest hits, his personal struggles and the demons that have haunted him throughout his life. Set against backdrops ranging from Madrid to Las Vegas, via Moscow, Paris and Acapulco, A Day Like no Other is an emotional journey through five decades full of highs and lows. A moving story that reveals the man behind the legend.

The series is produced by DLO Producciones ( El jardinero , Ni una más ) in association with Caracol Televisión . It is directed by Tito López Amado , Javier Pulido and Beatriz Sanchís , with J osé Manuel Lorenzo as producer and Jacobo Martos as associate producer. The screenplay was written by Ignacio del Moral , Paloma Rando and Adrià P. Xancó . The executive producers are Nacho Bolonio , Dago García , Gonzalo Cordoba , Asier Aguilar , Lisette Osorio and José Manuel Lorenzo
