Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping Meets with the New Mayor of the City of Windhoek
On January 15, 2026，Ambassador Zhao Weiping met with Hon. Sakarias Uunona, the new mayor of Windhoek. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening friendly cooperation between China and Namibia at the local level.
Ambassador Zhao extended congratulations to Mayor Uunona on his new appointment and said that the City of Windhoek plays an important role in deepening traditional friendship between China and Namibia. The Embassy will actively support the cooperation between Windhoek and its sister cities such as Shanghai, and continue to provide assistance within its capacity.
Hon. Uunona said that the Namibian side cherishes the traditional friendship between the two countries and thanked China for its consistent support for Namibia's social and economic development. The City of Windhoek looks forward to further exchanges and cooperation with its sister cities in China.
