Wayne State University will soon expand its campus dining offerings with the addition of Rosa Café at the WSU Bookstore. The partnership with Detroit-based Rosa Café - which is known for its locally sourced ingredients, commitment to local causes and collaboration with area small businesses - reflects Wayne State's ongoing investment in community-engaged partnerships and its vision for a bookstore that serves as a hub for connection, culture and community.
The move follows a refreshed bookstore experience earlier this fall with Textbook Brokers, WSU's new bookstore partner.. Rosa Café will open on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, coinciding with the start of the winter semester. The café will bring a fresh menu of coffee beverages, pastries and grab-and-go items to campus. Additional details about hours and offerings will be shared soon.
Rosa Café, a coffeehouse founded in the historic Rosedale Park neighborhood with locations on Grand River Avenue and the Riverfront, brings a locally rooted café experience to campus. Serving beans from Detroit-based roaster Faust Haus, Rosa Café has become a neighborhood staple celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere, collaboration with local businesses and artists, and commitment to creating spaces where culture and connection thrive.
"Rosa Café is a beloved Detroit business and they're known for pouring more than just excellent coffee. They also pour into the community, and our partnership reflects this shared commitment," said Brad Dick, senior associate vice president and deputy chief business officer. "We're so excited to welcome them to campus and offer students, faculty, staff and our community an authentic taste of Detroit's vibrant spirit at the Wayne State Bookstore."
