Always seeking new ways to extend the life of street surfaces, Cranberry is once again implementing a cutting-edge program to maximize paving dollars.
The Township's annual Superpave Program is supplemented by a new Cape Seal Pilot Program that will organize the Township into four quadrants. In 2025, the program will focus on the Township's northeast corridor, with information to be shared with those neighborhoods in the coming weeks.
Roads identified as needing attention but not requiring full milling and surfacing will undergo a new process that combines seal coating and microsurfacing. The two-step cape seal process is designed to seal existing cracks, prevent additional cracks and potholes, waterproof the surface, and provide a smoother riding surface.
The Board of Supervisors on April 3 awarded the Paving Program contract to Youngblood Paving Inc. Work includes:
