The Bucks County Board of Commissioners have selected Dan Grieser to serve as County Solicitor.
Grieser's appointment as the County's chief legal officer and head of its Law Department came Dec. 3, 2025, in a unanimous, bipartisan vote of the three-member board.
He joined the Law Department in 2021, and served as Assistant County Solicitor and later Deputy County Solicitor before earning the office's top spot.
From his new perch, Grieser oversees all lawsuits brought by and filed against the County, its subdivisions and 2,000+ employees. He also provides advice and counsel to the Board of Commissioners and departments in their administration, as well as the County's Salary and Retirement Board.
A retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, Grieser brings more than 25 years of experience representing government agencies at all levels. After retiring from the Army, Grieser served as a municipal solicitor to various Pennsylvania municipal entities, including Centennial School District, Newtown Township and Middletown Township.
Grieser is a proud graduate of Audobon High School, Moorhead State University, the University of North Dakota Law School, and the US Army Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School where he earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Military Law.
