General Assembly Discusses Promotion of Durable Peace, Sustainable Development in Africa

(Note: A complete summary of today's General Assembly meeting will be made available after its conclusion.)

The Assembly meets today under its agenda item "From the New Partnership for Africa's Development to Agenda 2063: progress in the implementation of sustainable development in Africa and international support".

It will consider the related reports of the Secretary-General: Strengthening the national and international architecture for financing for development (document A/80/185); Promotion of durable peace through sustainable development in Africa (document A/80/179) and the Outreach programme on the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda and the United Nations (document A/80/291), as well as hold a debate on the items.
