The Brazilian government welcomes the announcement by the Vietnamese government regarding the acceptance of the proposed International Sanitary Certificate for the export of salted bovine hides from Brazil to Vietnam.
This product is widely used in Vietnam's leather industry, meeting the growing demand for high-quality raw materials in the production of footwear, furniture, and accessories-sectors that are strategic for the country's economy and exports.
This latest market opening further strengthens commercial ties with Vietnam, which ranked as the fifth-largest destination for Brazilian agribusiness exports in the past year. Between January and November 2024, that country imported more than US$3.51 billion worth of agricultural products from Brazil.
It also marks the first new market opening in 2025. Since the beginning of President Lula's current administration in 2023, 303 new markets have been opened in 62 countries.
These achievements are the result of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).
