Denver Police to collect and distribute coats
Denver - Thursday, October 22, 2026 - Today, the Denver Police Department (DPD) announces the Community Cares Coat Drive. Now through Thursday, November 4, residents are encouraged to drop off new or gently used winter coats at Denver Police District stations, except for District Six, which is under construction. The goal of the event is to provide warmth to Denver's community members.
Coat drop-off locations:
On November 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., members of the community can attend the Community Cares Coat giveaway at the Denver Police District Two Station at 3921 North Holly Street. Attendees will have the chance to look through the organized coats and take items of their choosing at no cost and with no questions asked!
"If the winter is as cold as predicted, we want to do what we can to keep our community members warm," said Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas. "Donating new or gently used coats will go a long way toward not only ensuring our neighbors are warm, but also providing tangible proof of our community's care for those in need."
The Denver Police Department hosted a Community Coat Drive in 2025, where 225 coats were distributed.
DPD extends its gratitude to Centennial Lodge No. 4 and Zeta Phi Beta for their partnership in this community event. Attached are the fliers for the collection and giveaway.
