Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Xiaolong Attends And Delivers a Speech At The Māori-China Business Networking Dinner Hosted By Te Taumata

On September 14, Ambassador Wang Xiaolong was invited to attend the Māori-China Business Networking Dinner held in Wellington by Te Taumata, the Māori Trade Organization of New Zealand. Around thirty participants attended, including representatives from various Māori enterprises across both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, as well as representatives from Chinese-invested companies in New Zealand such as Bank of China, ICBC, CCB, and Hunan Construction Investment Group.

Ambassador Wang pointed out in his speech that China and the Māori people have a long-standing relationship, which has fostered deep friendship over the years. The Māori economy is an important part of New Zealand's economy and plays a significant role in promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and New Zealand. This year marks the beginning of China's 15th Five-Year Plan and also the APEC China Year. China remains committed to high-level opening-up, offering broad opportunities for partners from around the world, including Māori businesses. Ambassador Wang encouraged deeper collaboration between Māori and Chinese enterprises to make greater contributions to the development of China-New Zealand relations.
