On 8 September 2026, a meeting between T.R. Midhun, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, held a meeting with Zhu Tong, Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the Eurasian Economic Forum (EAEF), at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing.
The sides exchanged views on the preparation and organisation of the Forum's events in the current year and the 12th Eurasian Economic Forum in 2027. They agreed to maintain contacts and interaction in order to achieve new results of practical cooperation in the SCO area and in the Eurasian region as a whole.
The Eurasian Economic Forum (EAEF) is a platform for international economic interaction across Eurasia, which geographically includes the SCO member states. The Forum has been held regularly in Xi'an every two years since 2005.
