Defence Secretary Chaired Meeting on AIIB-Funded Post-DITWAH Resettlement Project

A meeting on the post-DITWAH resettlement project funded by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank was held today (06 April) under the chairmanship of the Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Ministry of Defence.

A delegation representing the AIIB, led by Toshiyaki Kiecho, participated in the discussion. During the meeting, attention was focused on the progress of the post-disaster victims' resettlement programme, with emphasis placed on ensuring transparency, accountability and the effective implementation of the project.

The Defence Secretary emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the implementation of the project. He also stressed the need to provide sustainable and meaningful housing solutions to the affected families at the earliest possible stage.

The participants also reviewed the current status of the resettlement process and discussed measures required to expedite the project while maintaining proper oversight and coordination among all relevant stakeholders.
