Today

A new "trilateral" meeting is taking place today between Spain, France and Portugal, attended by the State Secretary for the European Union, Fernando Sampedro, his Portuguese counterpart, Inês Domingos, and France's Minister Delegate for Europe, Benjamin Haddad.

The meeting, organised on this occasion by France in the city of Bayonne, will enable the three countries to coordinate efforts on priority issues on the EU agenda, such as the next multiannual financial framework, boosting competitiveness, reforms, external relations, enlargement and the Atlantic macro-region, as well as addressing shared challenges.

Following the formal meeting, representatives from the three countries will hold a meeting with representatives of the nine outermost regions (ORs) of the European Union, which include the Canary Islands. The French Minister for Overseas Territories, Naïma Moutchou, is expected to attend this session.
