Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright represented Surfshark Holdings (Surfshark), a cybersecurity company headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania and part of the Tesonet house of brands, in its acquisition of a majority stake in Optery, a California-based provider of online privacy protection and personal data removal services. The transaction closed on September 2, 2026.
The acquisition expands Surfshark's cybersecurity and privacy platform, reflecting increasing demand for tools that help individuals manage and protect their personal information online. By adding Optery's capabilities, which help users identify and remove personal information from search results, data brokers and people-search sites, Surfshark strengthens its offering for users seeking greater control over their digital footprint.
