The University of Wyoming's spring commencement ceremonies, featuring four separate events, will take place Saturday, May 16.
UW is scheduled to accord degrees upon a total of 2,105 students: 1,440 undergraduates, 478 graduate students, 78 College of Law students and 19 School of Pharmacy students.
All ceremonies, free and open to the public, will be held in the Arena-Auditorium, with the exception of the College of Law ceremony, which is scheduled in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts. The ceremonies will be livestreamed on YouTube and WyoCast; links will be posted on the UW commencement webpage at https://www.uwyo.edu/commencement/index.html.
Graduates should arrive at War Memorial Fieldhouse one hour before their respective ceremony start times. Parking and shuttle information may be found here.
Carol Tomé, chief executive officer of UPS, is the keynote speaker for all three graduation ceremonies. She received her undergraduate degree in communication from UW and a master's degree in finance from the University of Denver. She received three honorary doctoral degrees from the University of Denver, Georgia Institute of Technology and Oglethorpe University, each recognizing her leadership in business and public service.
A native of Jackson, Tomé has maintained a lifelong connection to Wyoming and its university. In 2011, she was honored with UW's Distinguished Alumna Award. In 2021, she launched the Tomé Scholars to Fellow Program, supporting UW undergraduates pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Tomé's professional achievements include being named to Fortune's "Most Powerful Women in Business" list six times; Forbes' "World's Most Powerful Women" rankings; and a Four Pillar Award from the Council for Quality Growth. She has been CEO of UPS since 2020, with previous corporate executive experience with The Home Depot, Cisco Systems, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and Verizon Communications Inc.
