Lincoln Street Bridge Reopens

The Lincoln Street bridge in Concord is reopening to traffic today at noon. The City of Concord closed Lincoln Street SW over the Irish Buffalo Creek as a safety precaution in July 2022, after an inspection found the bridge was no longer safe for vehicles to travel across.

Design work on the new bridge was completed early last year and construction began in May 2024. Originally, the construction was anticipated to last one-year but was completed ahead of schedule in eight months.

The newly replaced Lincoln Street bridge includes the addition of a sidewalk to enhance pedestrian safety and improve neighborhood connections, including connections to the future Irish Buffalo Creek Greenway crossing.
