Korea and Japan, Joining Hands for a Better Future Selection of official logo and slogan for 60th anniversary of normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan

1. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Korea and Japan have unveiled the official logo and slogan to be used for various events commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2025.

2. A logo contest held from Monday, October 28, to Friday, November 22, 2024, received a total of 86 entries, and the best work was chosen as the official logo. The logo incorporates the designs of the national flags of Korea and Japan, symbolizing the two countries coming together in harmony, respecting one another, and working collaboratively.

3. Additionally, the slogan to be used alongside the logo, "Joining Hands for a Better Future," reflects the aspiration of Korea and Japan to join forces and move forward towards a future-oriented relationship.

4. Both ministries plan to approve the use of the official logo and slogan for privately organized commemorative events, in addition to government-hosted events marking the 60th anniversary.

※ Privately organized commemorative events will be approved by the preparatory task force for the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan.

5. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry aims to celebrate the 60th anniversary by organizing commemorative receptions, academic conferences, and various other events. It also plans to encourage other government agencies and provincial governments to host their own commemorative events.
