City of Columbia Utilities will host a pair of interested parties meetings to gather feedback on an upcoming transmission line project.
The meetings will be held at two time slots, giving residents more opportunities to provide feedback. Times are 1:30-3:30 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash St.
The proposed project would build a 161-kilovolt transmission line. The line would connect the Grindstone substation to the Perche Creek substation along Vawter School Road. City Council unanimously approved the Vawter School Road route proposal as the most cost-effective option for the project.
Building the transmission line will strengthen the interconnection to the grid, help with maintaining the grid and continue to bring reliable power to the community.
During the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to ask questions, make comments and complete a public comment form.
City staff will also accept questions and comments online at opens in a new windowBeHeard.CoMo.gov.
