Riga – “Caffè Young Italy” project comes to an end

The initiative promoted by the Italian Embassy in Riga "Caffè Young Italy", one of the winning projects of the second edition of the "Capitals of Italian creativity in the world" contest launched by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has successfully come to an end.

Featuring ten events organised between August and December, the initiative was able to promote dialogue between tradition and innovation, attracting a predominantly young audience and gaining enthusiastic feedback from partners and participants. "We are proud to have shown a dynamic Italy, capable of combining tradition and modernity," commented the Italian Ambassador in Riga Alessandro Monti. "I would like to thank all the partners of the project, both Italian and Latvian, for their great work: this is only the beginning of future collaborations between Italy and Latvia," added the Ambassador.

With its ten events, Caffè Young Italy brought together young Italian and Latvian talents under 35 active in different sectors: performing arts, visual arts, information, literature, fashion, food and wine, innovation, security, cinema and technology.

Organised by the Embassy of Italy in Riga in cooperation with Latvian festivals and institutions, the initiative saw an average attendance of over 150 people per event (60% of whom were under 35). The result far exceeded expectations and consolidated Italy's role as a promoter of culture and creativity in Latvia. The co-curatorship strategy adopted by the Embassy received wide acclaim from the Latvian cultural institutions involved, laying solid foundations for future collaborations.
