We're delighted to share this message of goodwill with all our members and future members at this special time of year.

It's a moment to look back at the achievements and celebrations of the past year - and also to look ahead with excitement and anticipation to a new year.

High on the list for 2025 is creating impact with a bolder new brand look. You might already have noticed that we're looking different, with bigger fonts, brighter colours and refreshed imagery, and you'll see much more in coming months as we roll out the changes.

It's carefully designed to capture attention and imagination, reflecting the unique vibrancy of ACCA. We're confident that it will appeal to all our audiences - and speak to the professionals of tomorrow, who are eager to choose a forward-looking and ever-changing career that meets their aspirations and dreams of a bright and purposeful future.

We'll also be turning up the volume on our global reach and connections - highlighting the appeal of the ACCA Qualification as the golden key which unlocks rewarding opportunities all over the world, and of the ACCA community as a force for positive change.

Throughout 2024 we saw our members and partners come together at numerous events to mark a major milestone in ACCA's journey. It was the year when we reached a quarter of a million members, and that gave us a fantastic opportunity to reflect on how far we have come - and on the positive impact our members and future members have made in the world.

In countless ways, you have served the public good and made a huge contribution to a sustainable future and a better society in all of the 180 countries where you live and work.

It was also a year when we enjoyed our 120th anniversary, and one of the highlights of the past 12 months has been the way in which members have thrown themselves into celebrations of this landmark. You have shared your own inspiring and moving stories of how ACCA has made a difference to your lives and the lives of your families - and about how ACCA has given you the chance to make your contribution to a better world.

That is in keeping with our global theme, Accounting for a better world, which continues to set the agenda for the profession as we all strive to build, support and promote sustainable businesses and economies.

Artificial intelligence and sustainability will remain high on the agenda, bringing change, opportunity, risks, and generally shaking things up for the profession.

ACCA members are pioneers in the adoption and ethical use of AI in business. We'll continue to explore the many opportunities it brings, while supporting careful regulation of the technology to ensure it remains our servant and never our master. It's crucial that we retain ethics and the human element at the heart of decision making in business.

Sustainability will continue dominate our agenda in 2025. This is the reality for every organisation and business in the world now, when public and politicians demand action and not just words. The sustainability agenda is shifting investment strategies more than ever before, as consumers, investors and workers increasingly demand results on sustainability before they trade with, back or work for a business. Sustainability reporting is expanding and becoming mandatory in ever more jurisdictions. Sustainability is now truly a business question, just as much as it is a moral and an ethical question.

In that spirit we would like to mention the launch of ACCA's groundbreaking new Professional Diploma in Sustainability in September.

The diploma is a world-leading qualification that equips accountants with the knowledge and skills they need to serve as experts and leaders in the critical area of sustainability - including reporting and assurance; ethics and strategy. There is a growing clamour across business for professionals who can answer this demand.

In 2025 we'll continue to grow our stature and status as the world's leading global accountancy body, building the brand and reputation of our members. And we'll continue to support your success and keep you one step ahead by improving and updating our resources and support for all of you, wherever you are in your ACCA journey.
