ENMU Announces Upcoming “1ROO' Annual Giving Program Launch on November 20, 2025

PORTALES, N.M. - November 4, 2025 - Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) announced today the upcoming launch of its new university-wide annual giving program, "1ROO for ENMU," which will go live on November 20, 2025. This initiative introduces a new, centralized giving platform to unite supporters in advancing the University's mission.

The program's name is inspired by the roo, a melodic call greyhounds use to connect with their pack. 1ROO channels this spirit by asking supporters to answer the call for the greatest needs in academic, athletic, and community units.

"At Eastern, our Roo is more than just a call. It's the embodiment of our Greyhound grit, determination, and unwavering loyalty," said Amanda Baca, director of Annual Giving and Engagement. "This is our unique call to purpose. Giving through 1ROO ensures ENMU remains a place where dreams are nurtured, courage is fostered, and tenacity is rewarded."

ENMU's Office of Annual Giving and Engagement will provide additional information regarding access to the giving website in the coming weeks through future press releases and the institution's social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

"I am very excited for the launch of this program," said Dr. James Johnston, ENMU system chancellor and ENMU-Portales President. "This fund allows divisions and departments of the university to respond to opportunities and to support student success."

The program encourages all to support their fellow Greyhounds by answering the call: "Answer 1ROO for ENMU!"
