A $1 million matching gift, with the potential to raise $2 million, has been given to Fresno Pacific University by an anonymous donor.
Gifts received now through December 31, 2025, will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $1 million, literally doubling the impact of every dollar given. The goal of the anonymous donor is to inspire others to help advance the university's mission of developing students for leadership and service through excellence in Christian higher education.
Contributions can be made at fpu.edu/give and designated to any area of preference. Matching funds will be directed to the university's Where Most Needed Fund, ensuring the matched dollars support areas of greatest need.
"This remarkable gift reflects the deep generosity and shared commitment of those who believe in Fresno Pacific's mission," said FPU President André Stephens, Ph.D. "Each contribution, whether large or small, helps us create an environment where students can flourish academically, spiritually and personally."
Donations to the match directly support nearly 3,000 students pursuing their bachelor's, master's and seminary degrees at FPU campuses in Fresno, Visalia, Merced and Bakersfield, as well as through online programs.
"At Fresno Pacific, every gift represents an investment in transformation," Stephens added. "It fuels the work of faculty, staff and students who live out our calling to empower students to recognize their infinite worth and purpose."
Liz Garvin, vice president for advancement and executive director of the FPU Foundation, shared, "We are incredibly grateful for this anonymous donor's generosity. This match offers our community a powerful opportunity to come together, multiply their impact and change the lives of students across the Central Valley."
