Bridge Repair Activities to Impact Traffic on SR 73 (US 321) and SR 44 in Loudon County

Motorists traveling on State Route 73 (U.S. 321) and State Route 444 (Tellico Parkway) in Loudon County should be aware of upcoming bridge repair activities that will have a significant impact on traffic.

Beginning on Monday, March 23, the State Route 73 (U.S. 321) bridges over Tellico Lake and
State Route 444 (Tellico Parkway) will be reduced to one lane in each direction. In addition, the
off-ramp from State Route 73 (U.S. 321) southbound to State Route 444 (Tellico Parkway) westbound will be closed. Those motorists will use State Route 335, State Route 33 (U.S. 411), and State Route 72 to bypass the work zone.

This traffic pattern is expected to be in place until all bridge repairs are complete on or before
November 15, 2026.

This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect
delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.

As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and "Know Before You Go!" by checking travel conditions before leaving for your destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel. The TDOT SmartWay system provides the latest updates for road construction activity. Travelers can also call 511 for travel information.
