Route 1 Riders: Use Temporary Stops Starting Monday, July 28th

Starting Monday, July 28, 2025, regular Route 1 bus service through a key stretch of Fairfield will be temporarily disrupted. Due to the launch of the West Texas Complete Streets project, all Route 1 stops between Beck Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed for construction.

To help riders navigate the changes, temporary stops have been set up. Outbound passengers are advised to board either at the Fairfield Transportation Center or at the temporary stop located at Woolner Avenue and Enterprise Drive. Inbound riders can use the temporary stops at Woolner and Enterprise, or at Pennsylvania Avenue and Broadway Street.

The detour is expected to last until the project is completed in summer 2026. City officials urge residents and commuters to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time, and remain patient as Fairfield works to improve its streets and transit access.

For questions or more information, riders can call (707) 434-3800 or (707) 422-2877.
