Announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the repatriation of Greeks from the Middle East (07.03.2026)

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, operations for the safe repatriation of Greek citizens and their family members were successfully completed yesterday, Friday, March 6.

Specifically:

  • 46 Greek citizens and their family members arrived in Athens from Oman, on a special flight operated by Aegean Airlines, coordinated by the Embassy of Greece in Riyadh.
  • 89 Greek citizens and their family members arrived in Athens from Oman, on a special flight operated by SKY Express, coordinated by the Embassy of Greece in Riyadh.

In addition, 142 Greek citizens and members of their families were transported to Athens from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, on two flights operated by Air Arabia.

The operations are ongoing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains on full alert in order to provide all possible assistance to Greek citizens affected by the armed conflict in the wider Middle East.
