Applications for Adjustments to Extraordinary Water Charges Now Available Online at WaterSmart

Did you recently receive an unusually high water bill? Have you repaired irrigation or plumbing leaks in the past couple of months? If so, you may qualify for an adjustment to your water charges!

Applications are now available online through WaterSmart. Simply log in or create an account at SantaBarbaraCA.gov/WaterSmart to access your water account and apply online.

What qualifies for an adjustment?

To be eligible, the following conditions must be met:

• No prior adjustment under this program within the last five years.
• Extraordinary usage compared to your regular water consumption.
• No negligence by you or your agent caused the loss.
• Application submitted within 60 days of the billing date when the leak occurred.
• Supporting documentation included with your application:
  • Receipts for labor and materials, or photos showing repairs.
  • If the loss was due to water theft, a police report must be attached.
