President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission, Markus Ritter

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, held a farewell meeting with the Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission, Markus Ritter, on the occasion of the completion of his tenure.

The President thanked Mr. Ritter for the consistent and effective work carried out over the past three years, emphasizing that it deserves high appreciation not only from Armenia's leadership but also from its citizens. The President noted that the mission's activities were aimed at reducing tensions in border areas and at the important goal of making people's daily life more peaceful and secure, which has been successfully achieved.

Markus Ritter thanked the President for the reception and the warm words, noting that he is leaving Armenia with warm impressions and affection. He emphasized that throughout his work he consistently felt the support and friendly attitude of Armenia's citizens as well as all levels of the country's leadership.

During the meeting, the important role of the European Union Monitoring Mission was highlighted for Armenia during a challenging period, in the context of efforts to establish peace in the region. The sides stressed the importance of bringing the ongoing peace process in the region to a positive conclusion.

At the end of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan awarded Markus Ritter the Medal of Gratitude.
