Philippines: Philippines issued the first sugar import program for MY 2024-2025

The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) issued Sugar Order No. 8 (SO8), which authorizes the importation of 424,000 metric tons (MT) of refined sugar. A key provision of SO8 is the prioritization of import allocation to eligible importers who contributed to fulfilling the Philippines 2025 WTO raw sugar export quota allocation to the United States market. Of the total authorized imports, SO8 sets a maximum volume of 199,000 MT of refined sugar allocated to companies participating in the Philippines export program to the United States. SO8 recommends that imported refined sugar arrive in the Philippines starting July 15, 2025, and no later than November 30, 2025.
