UNRWA Commissioner-General on Gaza: Massive Destruction, Displacement and Urgent Need for Dignity

From Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)

Plunging temperatures, wind, rain and floods.
Winter keeps compounding the misery of people in the Gaza Strip, where the vast majority remain forcibly displaced and living in tents and half-standing buildings.
Gaza lies in ruins after two years of war, with thousands of people still missing and presumed dead under the rubble, 92% of homes damaged or destroyed, and massive quantities of unexploded bombs still to be cleared.
International efforts must focus fully on restoring a dignified life for people in Gaza, respecting their rights and placing the interests of those in need at the heart of the response.
