FBT Gibbons LLP has added Teresa D. Hudson and Adam S. Mocciolo as partners in its Labor & Employment practice group, joining the firm's Houston and New York offices, respectively. Together, they add depth to the national practice group in all aspects of employment litigation, counseling and investigations, while strengthening the practice in Texas and the Northeast.

Hudson brings a counseling-focused practice shaped by years working in senior human resources leadership roles and advising management from inside organizations. Mocciolo combines employment counseling and investigations with significant employment and commercial litigation experience, including previous in-house service at a public company with a nationwide and global workforce.

"We are being intentional about building a practice around long-term client relationships, not individual matters," said Christine Amalfe, leader of FBT Gibbons' Labor & Employment practice group. "Teresa and Adam both understand the broader business context around an employment issue and provide advice to clients that recognizes their business needs and strategies while balancing the legal and compliance requirements."

Hudson joins FBT Gibbons from Munck Wilson Mandala LLP, where she was a partner in the firm's Employment & Labor group. She counsels employers on employee relations, workplace policies and compliance, investigations, performance and workforce management, training, compensation, and other employment matters, and represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, Texas Workforce Commission, and in all aspects of employment disputes.

Hudson's career has spanned private practice, entrepreneurship, and senior HR leadership. She has held HR and in-house roles in corporate, health care, and higher education settings, advising management on workforce strategy, employee relations, compensation, talent programs, and M&A. That experience shapes a practice grounded in both the legal requirements and the realities of implementing employment decisions within the business environment. She also has a growing sports law practice focused on Name, Image, and Likeness matters involving athletes, universities, collectives, and brands.

"I've spent a large part of my career inside organizations making the kinds of workforce decisions I now help clients navigate," Hudson said. "That changes how you counsel a client. The answer must be legally sound, but it also has to work for the business and the people implementing it. FBT Gibbons gives me the opportunity to keep that close counseling relationship while bringing clients a broader team across the country who can assist with all aspects of their legal needs."

Mocciolo joins FBT Gibbons from Akerman LLP, where his practice spanned employment counseling and litigation, internal investigations, restrictive covenant and trade secret matters, and complex commercial disputes.

In addition to his firm practice, Mocciolo previously practiced in house at W.R. Berkley Corporation, where he served as lead employment counsel and handled employment, commercial, and regulatory matters from inside a global public company. That experience complements his litigation background and gives him firsthand perspective on how businesses evaluate risk, manage investigations, and think about policy and operations.

"I strive to be a business counselor as well as a legal counselor," Mocciolo said. "That requires not only being focused on practical outcomes, but taking a multidisciplinary legal perspective on clients' concerns. At FBT Gibbons, I am not only part of employment and litigation teams that can act for my clients around the country, but in a partnership of deep subject-matter experts who can tackle all facets of the complex, novel legal issues on which my clients most need counsel."
