Assemblymember Garcia's Statement on the Passing of Dolores Huerta

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dolores Huerta, a courageous leader who dedicated her life to the dignity and rights of others. As a co-founder of the United Farm Workers, she helped secure better wages and working conditions while inspiring generations to stand up for justice. As a former educator, I especially admire her commitment to empowering young people and expanding educational opportunity. Her enduring message, "Sí, se puede," reminds us that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things when we work together. My AD50 team and I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and the countless people whose lives she touched. We honor her memory by carrying forward her commitment to service, fairness, and opportunity for all.
