Virginia Department of Education announced today that Amy Reardon, a Chancellor Elementary educator has been named the 2027 Region 3 Teacher of the Year - recognizing her dedication to academic excellence and her commitment to helping multilingual learners succeed.
"We are extremely proud of our Division Teacher of the Year Ms. Amy Reardon for being named the State's Region 3 Teacher of the Year, "said Spotsylvania County Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Clint Mitchell. "This recognition speaks to the passion Ms. Reardon pours into her work every single day in supporting her students to make a positive impact in our school division. Ms. Reardon embodies what it means to be an educator in Spotsylvania County Public Schools, and it's a joy to see her dedication and contributions recognized at this level."
Reardon serves as an elementary English as a Second Language teacher in Spotsylvania County Public Schools. In her role, she supports students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds as they develop English language skills while building confidence in their academic abilities.
"Ms. Reardon's work with students each day is truly inspiring." said Chancellor Elementary Principal, Shawn Hudson. "She brings patience, creativity, and genuine care into every lesson, making each student feel seen, valued, and capable of success. She goes above and beyond not just in her classroom, but for our entire school community. We are so fortunate to have her at Chancellor Elementary, and this recognition as Region 3 Teacher of the Year is well deserved."
Known for her compassionate approach and innovative instructional strategies, Reardon works closely with classroom teachers to ensure multilingual learners receive the support they need to fully engage in the curriculum.
"Amy Reardon's dedication to her students and colleagues exemplifies the profound impact educators have on shaping the future," said Superintendent of Public Instruction, Jenna Conway. "Her leadership and commitment help students build confidence, achieve academic success, and feel a true sense of belonging in their school community."
Reardon will represent Region 3, the Northern Neck region, in the statewide Virginia Teacher of the Year selection process.
