On behalf of the United States of America, I extend best wishes to the Congolese people and the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo as you celebrate your National Day.
The United States values its enduring diplomatic ties with the Democratic Republic of the Congo and our mutual efforts to pursue prosperity and regional security. The United States remains committed to working with the Democratic Republic of the Congo to combat the ongoing Ebola outbreak. We look forward to continuing to work together to achieve durable peace in the Great Lakes region through implementation of the Washington Accords which will enable economic growth that catalyzes opportunities for both our countries.
We look forward to deepening our cooperation in the year ahead.
