LAS 36102 Alaska Dept of Transportation Land Use Permit Application for Dalton Hwy 214.7 Dike

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities

PROJECT NAME: LAS 36102

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: An unnamed stream 2,000 feet east of milepost 214.7 on the Dalton Highway (67.7556 N, 149.7496 W).

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Section 23 of Township 34 North, Range 10 West, Fairbanks Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW) received a Land Use Permit (LUP) application from Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) for the construction and maintenance of a dike on an unnamed stream channel near milepost 214.7 on the Dalton Highway. This project would redirect the existing flow into the abandoned historic channel and prevent future highway deterioration by ensuring water flows to culverts that were designed for it. The dike would be approximately 100 ft long, 4 ft high, and 20 ft wide and constructed from material on site. Equipment would be driven up the abandoned channel and/or rocky areas adjacent to the work site.

REQUESTED TERM: 5-year term
