MeitY and Prosus Announce Partnership for the India AI Impact Summit 2026

Launching 'AI for All: Catalysing Jobs, Growth, and Opportunity'

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and Prosus, the power behind the world's leading lifestyle e-commerce brands, today announced a partnership for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled for February 19-20, 2026, in New Delhi. As part of this collaboration, Prosus will lead a pre-summit event titled "AI for All: Catalysing Jobs, Growth, and Opportunity" to explore how Artificial Intelligence can become a powerful engine for employment generation, inclusive economic growth, and social transformation across India.

Announced by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit, the India AI Impact Summit 2026 will be the first-ever global AI summit hosted in the Global South. Through this partnership, MeitY and Prosus seek to demonstrate India's commitment to advancing human-centric AI that works for good and for all. The joint initiative will reframe the national conversation on AI; from concerns around job displacement to a narrative of opportunity creation, productivity growth, and equitable participation in the digital economy.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhishek Singh, CEO, India AI Mission and Additional Secretary, MeitY said, "This partnership with Prosus reflects our shared vision of advancing India's AI Mission-where technology becomes a catalyst for inclusive growth and opportunity creation. The India AI Impact Summit 2026 will be a platform to demonstrate how AI can be harnessed to drive jobs, innovation, and digital empowerment at scale. Through this collaboration, we aim to make India a global leader in developing and deploying human-centric AI that benefits every section of society."

Mr. Rentala Chandrashekhar, Chief Mentor, AI for All Project; Chairman, Centre for the Digital Future; Former Secretary, Government of India (IT & Telecom); and Former President, NASSCOM, said, "The 'AI for All' initiative comes at a defining moment for India's digital economy. As AI becomes a transformative force across sectors, our goal is to ensure it strengthens, not sidelines, human capability and opportunity. This partnership between MeitY and Prosus is a strong example of how public and private sectors can co-create the frameworks needed for responsible innovation. By focusing on jobs, skills, and inclusion, we are setting the foundation for an AI ecosystem that works for every Indian. The real success of AI will not be measured in algorithms, but in the new possibilities it creates for people and communities."

Sehraj Singh, Managing Director and Group Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs and Public Policy, Prosus India, added, "AI represents one of the most transformative shifts in our lifetime, and India is uniquely placed to lead this transformation. Through this partnership with MeitY, we aim to spotlight India's strength in human capital, entrepreneurship, and innovation. AI for All reflects our belief that every advancement in AI should translate into jobs, growth, and tangible opportunities for people."

Under the initiative, five high-level roundtables will be convened in partnership with MeitY, bringing together senior government officials, industry leaders, startup founders, and academics to identify new job opportunities, skill pathways, and policy recommendations across India's core economic sectors. The thematic series; collectively titled "Amrit Manthan"; will include:

  • Amrit Arogya: AI for Health, Healing and New Horizons in Care
  • Amrit Krishi: AI for Abundant Harvests and Farmer Prosperity
  • Amrit Vidya: AI for Lifelong Learning and Empowering Individual Careers
  • Amrit Udyog: AI for Smart Industries and Future-Ready Workforce
  • Amrit Niti: AI for Inclusive Finance and Empowered Governance

Each roundtable will produce actionable insights that will culminate in a comprehensive "AI for All" White Paper to be presented at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The discussions will focus on how AI can catalyse net employment, foster collective leadership between government, academia, and industry, and develop scalable frameworks that position India as a model for the Global South.
