TRAFFIC ALERT - Kent County - Road Closure of Main Street/ SR 6 at the RR Crossing between Clayton Ave and Rodney Street
Road Closure of Main Street/ SR 6 at the Railroad Crossing between Clayton Avenue and Rodney Street
Clayton - ; The Delaware Department of Transportation announces that Delmarva Central Railroad forces will be resurfacing and performing general maintenance of their crossing of Main Street/ SR 6 beginning at 7:00 am on Monday, October 19, 2026. The work will require the full closure of Main Street. Message signs will be posted in advance, advising motorists of the closure.
Detour-
Eastbound: Main Street to School Lane to Wheatleys Pond Road/ SR 30 back to Main Street.
Westbound: Main Street to Wheatleys Pond Road/ SR 30 to School Lane back to Main Street.
The closure will be in place 24 hours per day. The work is expected to be completed, and the detour lifted no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, October 23, 2026.
