ST. LOUIS - Motorists who use Interstate 55 at Gravois this weekend should consider alternate routes or allow extra travel time as the northbound interstate will be closed Saturday.
Weather depending, crews will close all lanes of northbound I-55 at Gravois for tree removal and drain work, starting at 5 a.m. Saturday, December 13. The ramp to westbound Interstate 44 will remain open. All lanes will reopen by 2:30 p.m.
During the closure, drivers will detour onto Gravois (Exit 207A) and continue to 12th Street where they can get back onto northbound I-55.
In Jefferson County, drivers who use northbound Interstate 55 between Route Z and Route M should be aware the interstate is closed overnight Wednesday, December 10 through Saturday, December 13 between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. to set girders for a new bridge over the BNSF railroad.
All southbound lanes of Interstate 55 between Route Z and Route M will be closed to set girders for a new bridge over the BNSF railroad overnight Monday, December 15 through Wednesday, December 17 between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. All work is weather permitting.
