CMS says all 50 states applied for rural health fund

All 50 states have applied for the Rural Health Transformation Program, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced today. The program will fund $50 billion to states from fiscal year 2026 to FY 2030. Half of the funds will be awarded as baseline funding, and the other half will be distributed following a data-driven review that will assess each state's initiatives and their alignment with the program. CMS said it would announce the recipients by Dec. 31.
