Director-General of the Department of European Affairs meets with Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Switzerland in Thailand

On 26 August 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, held discussions with Mrs. Christine Löw, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Switzerland in Thailand, on preparations for the official visit to Thailand of H.E. Mr. Guy Parmelin, the President of the Swiss Confederation, on the occasion of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

Both sides agreed to take the opportunity of the visit to further elevate Thailand - Switzerland relations and advance concrete cooperation, particularly in the areas of economy, trade and investment, including through leveraging the Thailand-EFTA Free Trade Agreement (Thai-EFTA FTA), as well as science, technology and innovation, education and vocational education and training, climate action, and the green transition.
