Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised TotalEnergies on its newly formed 50-50 joint venture (JV) with private equity investment firm Tikehau Capital.
The JV will develop public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in urban areas located in Belgium and the Netherlands. The partnership aims to support local authorities throughout the ongoing EV transition in both regions.
Together, TotalEnergies and Tikehau Capital will pursue the development of public concessions in several major Belgian and Dutch cities, and will respond to new calls for tender that expand the urban public charging infrastructure in Belgium and the Netherlands.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team was led by Amsterdam-based partner Heimon Smits and counsel Rogier de Haan. They were supported by partners Daphne Broerse, Geert Jan van Rijthoven, Marjolein Dieperink and Wijnand Blom, senior associate Annemarie Creutzberg and associates Iris Heins and Rosalie Blaauw.
The Brussels-based team included partner Alexandra Rogers and counsel Violetta Bourt.
Heimon Smits commented:
"This exciting joint venture marks a significant step forward in the ongoing EV transition across Belgium and the Netherlands. TotalEnergies is at the forefront of this movement, pioneering the development of robust public charging infrastructure that will power the cities of tomorrow."
