Ohio Liquor (OHLQ) Encourages Ohioans to Plan Ahead for St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations with Proof Positive Rideshare Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio - As Ohioans prepare to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Ohio Liquor (OHLQ) is encouraging responsible celebrations by helping remove barriers to safe transportation. Through its Proof Positive Rideshare Program, OHLQ is offering $15 Lyft vouchers to Ohio residents 21 and older, while supplies last, to support planning ahead during the holiday.

St. Patrick's Day is one of the busiest weekends of the year for celebrations, and having a plan to get home safely is an important part of enjoying the holiday responsibly. The Proof Positive Rideshare Program is designed to empower consumers to make responsible choices before heading out.

"Responsible consumption is at the heart of everything we do at OHLQ," said Jackie DeGenova, Superintendent of the Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Liquor Control. "Planning ahead for transportation is one of the simplest ways people can look out for themselves and others during busy celebrations like St. Patrick's Day. This is just one small part we can all play in those efforts."

"St. Patrick's Day is about celebrating with friends and family, and we want Ohioans to enjoy the holiday responsibly by having a plan in place before they head out," said Lorraine Terry, Vice President of JobsOhio Beverage System. "Offering rideshare vouchers is one way we can help encourage thoughtful decision-making and ensure everyone has safe, responsible fun."

The program builds on the success of OHLQ's first rideshare activation during Thanksgiving in 2025, when more than 300 ride credits were claimed, helping Ohioans safely travel hundreds of miles via rideshare.

How the Proof Positive Rideshare Program Works:

  • Ohio residents 21 and older can claim a $15 Lyft voucher while supplies last.
  • Vouchers can be claimed beginning this Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
  • Vouchers can be redeemed from Friday, March 13 at 6 a.m. through Wednesday, March 18 at 6 a.m.
  • Vouchers can be accessed via OHLQ.com/rideshare or by entering code OHLQ2026 in the Lyft app.

About Ohio Liquor (OHLQ)
OHLQ is a partnership between the Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Liquor Control and JobsOhio Beverage System (JOBS), formed to use the profits from the sale of high-proof liquor in Ohio to fund job creation and bring new capital investment to the state. The Division selects and prices products and manages the sale of liquor in Ohio. JOBS supplies the products to OHLQ locations and owns the profits from the sale of all high-proof liquor in the state. JOBS uses these profits - not taxes - to provide stable and dedicated funding for JobsOhio, a private nonprofit corporation dedicated to Ohio's economic development. Privately owned OHLQ locations (sometimes referred to as Contract or State Liquor Agencies) contract with OHLQ to sell high-proof liquor on consignment.
