Public Hearing Scheduled for Route 61 Interchange at Route K and V in Lincoln County

HANNIB AL - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a public hearing from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29 at the Community Room of Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, 1112 E. Cherry St., Troy, Missouri 63379.

The open house style hearing will provide the opportunity for nearby residents, businesses, and travelers to learn about and provide comments regarding planned safety improvements on U.S. Route 61, including a new interchange north of Troy and eliminating at-grade crossings at Routes K & V and Creech Lane in Lincoln County. Right of way and easements will be required for this project.

The project is currently scheduled to be awarded in Fall 2026. Construction is anticipated to be complete by winter 2027. The project is estimated to cost approximately $25 million. Written and recorded oral statements can be submitted at the hearing. All displays and materials from the public hearing, in addition to submitting comments, will be available online by visiting the project web page beginning October 29, 2024. All comments must be received by November 12, 2024.

The environmental documentation prepared by MoDOT will be available for public inspection. Copies are also available at the office of Paula Gough, District Engineer, MoDOT Northeast District, 1711 Hwy 61 South in Hannibal.
