Applications for the week-long program are open now

Edinburg, TX
- The Edinburg Police Department is excited to welcome a new group of students to this year's Edinburg Teen Police Academy. The initiative, aimed at facilitating a positive relationship with city youth, was created to foster interest in a career in law enforcement.

The week-long program will allow participants to learn more about core police functions, such as patrol, special operations, and crime scene investigation. Participants will be introduced to policing through hands-on activities at the CPL Derek Hernandez Police Training Facility, located at 1309 N. Doolittle Road.

The academy is free of charge and open to City of Edinburg high school students (public, private, or homeschooled) ages 14 to 17.
