Baker McKenzie Signs the Women's Empowerment Principles in Ukraine

Baker McKenzie's Kyiv office has joined the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) network, a UN Women and UN Global Compact initiative to advance gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community. The Kyiv office becomes the 41st company in Ukraine to support the WEPs.

By championing the WEPs, we aim to promote gender equality for all employees, regardless of gender, to advance, succeed and foster inclusive leadership, support professional development for women and enhance workplace culture.

Commenting on the initiative, Managing Partner Serhiy Chorny noted the following:

At Baker McKenzie, we recognize the immense value of inclusion, diversity and equity. Empowering women is not only a matter of fairness but a strategic imperative that drives our success and innovation. The WEPs are integral to our commitment to create an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can excel and deliver innovative solutions to our clients.

About the WEPs

The WEPs are a set of seven principles designed to guide companies in promoting gender equality and empowering women in the workplace, marketplace and community. These include high-level corporate leadership; treating all people fairly and without discrimination in the workplace; employee health, well-being and safety; education and training for career advancement; business development; supply chain and marketing practices; community initiatives and advocacy; and measurement and reporting. https://www.weps.org
