Doña Ana County, New Mexico and Austin, Texas-Oct 13, 2026
Oracle is making a $1 million commitment to support residents and communities affected by recent flooding in Doña Ana County. The funding will be administered by the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico (CFSNM) through its Greatest Needs Impact Fund for Doña Ana County.
Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant flooding across portions of Doña Ana County, damaging homes, roads, and community infrastructure. These funds will support affected residents and businesses, including by restoring electricity to homes, installing wheelchair ramps and making home repairs for seniors, and repairing roads and other infrastructure. Funds will also be available to address damage from last year's floods and future needs.
"Our thoughts are with everyone in Doña Ana County whose home, business or livelihood has been affected by the floods," said Mahesh Thiagarajan, executive vice president and head of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. "Recovery will take time. We hope that this funding will support residents as they address urgent needs and begin rebuilding their homes and communities."
In addition to the financial contribution, Project Jupiter donated pumps to the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) to assist with water removal during the initial flood response.
"The needs after a flood can change quickly, and recovery takes time," said Terra V. Winter, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico. "These contributions will help provide financial resources to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs for the people, animals, and places affected by the devastating floods in Doña Ana County. Our organization is committed to our greatest needs funds throughout Southern New Mexico and all donor dollars go directly to those affected."
CFSNM is actively reviewing grant applications with community partners and expects to award the first grants in the coming days.
