Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns Israeli Approval of Religious Settlement School in Hebron and Escalation of Settlement Expansion in Occupied West Bank

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the Israeli occupation authorities' continued expansionist settlement policies, including the approval for the construction of 576 new settlement units in the occupied West Bank, as well as a new building for a religious settlement school in the heart of the city of Hebron.

The Ministry considers these decisions a dangerous escalation of illegal settlement activities and a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, foremost among them United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which reaffirms the illegality of settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, as well as President Trump's vision.

The Ministry warns that these policies further undermine the prospects for peace and stability and risk fueling additional tension and escalation. It calls on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to exert pressure on the Israeli authorities to immediately halt all settlement activities and regard them as null and void.
