Sumitomo Heavy Industries Material Solutions Establishes New Sales and Service Center in Singapore

Sumitomo Heavy Industries Material Solutions Co., Ltd. (SMS, Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Mitsukuni Tsukihara, a fully owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd.), has established a new company in the Republic of Singapore to strengthen its sales and service organization in Southeast Asia and South Asia. The new company, Sumitomo (SHI) Material Solutions Singapore Pte. Ltd. (SMS-SG), is a fully owned subsidiary of SHI.

■Reason for establishing the new company
Recent years have seen more and more investment in semiconductor production in Southeast Asia and South Asia to meet the growing demand in these regions, with many semiconductor makers establishing new production sites or expanding their existing manufacturing facilities.
In the past, SMS has provided sales and technical support for customers in Southeast Asia and South Asia from Japan but decided to establish the new company as a sales and service center operating out of Singapore-a convenient gateway to both regions-to ensure a faster and smoother response to meet the increasingly sophisticated and diverse needs of customers in these growing markets.
The new company will be responsible for the sales and after-service support for ion implanters and laser annealing equipment, seeking to build stronger relationships with customers and promote market growth.
This will enable SMS to offer high quality products and services to customers in Southeast Asia and South Asia, helping to grow the semiconductor industry and promoting a sustainable society in these regions.
