WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Tina Smith (D-MN) announced that the U.S. Department of Education has unfrozen $364,990 in funding for Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Public Schools. This money will be distributed to fund 21st Century Learning Centers at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Public Schools.
"We must continue to support our schools and community programs so that our children can thrive," said Klobuchar. "I fought to restore this funding for the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle school district so families and schools didn't lose out on vital programs."
"This funding never should have been frozen in the first place. It's just another example of the administration's attempt to make reckless cuts to funding, which put the success of kids and families at risk," said Smith. "I'm glad we pushed to get the money flowing again, because the young people and educators who empower them at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle education programs should come before tax cuts for billionaires."
