This month, make a difference and support the creative sector with local actions that have a big impact.

As federal funding changes and disruptionsaffect so many aspects of our lives and communities in Vermont, now is the time to take action to support the creative sector.

Each week in June, subscribers to our email list will receive a checklist of meaningful steps you can take to support Vermont's creative sector.

We'll use the power of the arts to do what we do best: bring people together and build a better future for everyone. Let's take creative action!

Here's what you can do in your community this week to make a difference:

• Sign up for a local cultural organization's newsletter or like and follow them on social media.This action keeps you informed about events and opportunities and shows public interest and engagement-key factors in securing funding and sustaining the organization's impact in the community.

• Drive a neighbor to an event they could not attend on their own.Helping out in this way fosters inclusion, reduces social isolation, and ensures that everyone-regardless of mobility or resources-can participate in and benefit from community life. • Buy a book at your local independent bookstore.Support local small businesses, foster a love of reading and community engagement, and keep money circulating in your local economy.

• Visit your local museum. Museums safeguard our cultural heritage, inspire creativity, and fuel local economies. Museum education programs help make history, science, and the arts accessible to all.   

• Attend a Selectboard meeting in your town.This action helps build your civic muscles. It gives you a direct voice in decisions affecting your community, increases government transparency, and helps you to stay informed and engaged in shaping policies that matter like supporting the creative sector in your town. Find dates, times, and locations on your town's website,
